Dione Wessels, President
In 2004 at the urging of the international strongman community, Dione Wessels, coowner of North American Strongman, Inc., founded the American Strongman Corporation (ASC). Dione, a former record holding powerlifter, national champion strongwoman and division one track athlete is no stranger to the rigors of competition. Wessels holds three degrees in accounting, nursing, education and a masters in adolescent counseling. She is actively involved with her three children and her local community, while heading ASC, the professional strongman national governing body.

Mike Johnston, Vice President
Mike Johnston joined ASC in 2006. Mike is a former professional and national champion strongman, division I strength coach and current elite powerlifter. Johnston, a sports medicine physical therapist, served in the Marine Corps, sat on the board of directors for Special Olympics in South Carolina, and currently lectures with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

Affiliates
Together Wessels and Johnston oversee the day to day operations of ASC including planning, selling and executing events. Wessels has fostered relationships with strongman organizations worldwide and has traveled to all corners of the globe as an ambassador of the sport of strongman. Johnston serves as corporate sponsor liaison and emcees ASC events. In eight short years ASC has grown to include 40 affiliates nationally and over 20 affiliates internationally.
