Athletes Big and Small Prepare for Orlando
April 10, 2012 – With the second ASC Platinum Plus and first ever Strongman Fitness® less then 3 weeks away Athletes are preparing from coast to coast.
After an amazing show in early March in Columbus, OH, ASC will make it’s next stop at the Orange County Convention Center for the Europa Get Fit American Strongman/ Strongman Fitness® show. Twenty-five athletes have signed up so far, for a chance at a LW and HW ASC pro-card and two tickets to the inaugural Strongman Fitness® World Championship at the Arnold in 2013.
Veteran HW competitor Alan Colley won’t have far to travel. Colley manages an Any Time Fitness® in the Orlando area and has been preparing hard for 6 weeks. In an effort to shake up his training, Colley has enlisted the help of ASC Pro Ryan Bracewell. Bracewell won his ASC Pro-Card in Orlando in 2010. “We have work on Alan’s conditioning and pressing. He is in great shape,” said Breacwell.
Women’s competitor Alana Casey has also been training hard for this inaugural Strongman Fitness® event. Casey serves full-time active duty in the Air Force and is stationed in San Antonio where she is coached by legendary Strongman competitor Jill Mills. Recently, Casey had a Temporary Duty Assignment that brought her to Colorado, but this didn’t let the change in venue interfere with her training. “I wanted to keep up my training so I packed up my truck with my yoke, log and stones and drove from Texas to Colorado,” quipped Casey.
